My Thesis class this semester has really helped me construct a statement that I like and best describes my work..
“Ill have a number 1 with a diet coke” is usually the starting point of most of my work. Even more than the food, my eye is drawn to the bold colors and pop culture surrounding the packaging in fast food restaurants. My goal is to create still life photographs out of unlikely enticing objects- be it food, packaging, glassware or accessories.
“You must really love shoes and food” was a comment I once received about my work. I want it to be apparent to the viewer that I want to bring them into a world where they are playfully involved. My intent is not to provoke any deep emotion such as anger and sadness, or loneliness rather the more powerful expressions of awe and laughter.
